Dr Euan Cruickshank

Originally from the Shetland Isles, Euan qualified from Birmingham University Dental School in 1998. After completing vocational training in Brechin he joined Gorgie Road Dental Practice in 1999. He is experienced in many areas of dentistry and strives to provide pain free compassionate care. He regularly attends postgraduate training courses on a wide range of topics.
Away from work Euan enjoys DIY, travel, hillwalking and watching sport.
Dr Miguel Lains Cardoso

Dr Miguel Lains Cardoso is a General Dental Practitioner who has been in Gorgie Dental since 2011. He has a special interest in Aesthetic Dentistry. Therefore, he is very keen on providing treatments such as composite bonding, veneers, implant restorations, treatment of the worn dentition, occlusal splints for nocturnal bruxism and teeth whitening.
Dr Cardoso has completed a Masters degree in Aesthetic Restorative Dentistry at the highly prestigious King’s College London and several post-graduation courses including an Advanced Restorative Dentistry Certificate at CADE in Manchester. He is a member of the Royal Odonto-Chirurgical Society of Scotland and a full member at the College of General Dentistry.
Under Dr Cardoso´s care you can expect an enthusiastic and warm approach with a complete explanation of treatment options and procedures. Any treatment you receive will be evidence based with a focus on minimally invasive techniques to preserve as much dental tooth tissue as possible.
Outside of Dentistry, Miguel spends most of his time with his wife and two children. He is al-ways keen to discuss the performance of his football club Benfica.
Geeta
Dental Nurse
Geeta is a Dental Nurse working over 3 years in Edinburgh and very passionate about working in the dental environment and providing excellent patient care. In her leisure time she loves baking confectionery.
Karen Stainton
Dental Hygienist
GDC 3539
Karen qualified as a Dental Hygienist at Edinburgh Dental School in 1988.
She joined the practice in 2005 working with the rest of the team to achieve good oral hhygiene in the practice.
In her spare time she enjoys walking and spending time with family and friends.
Gifty
Dental Nurse
Gifty joined the practice in November 2021 as a qualified and experienced dental nurse. She completed her dental nurse qualification at Edinburgh college in 2018. She is currently pursing a degree in Health and Social care. She spends her time alternating between her duties in surgery assisting the dentist as well as reception. She enjoys welcoming patients into the practice and likes to help make the patient’s journey as enjoyable as possible. In her spare time, Gifty enjoys socialising with her family, church activities, social work, travelling and keeping fit.
